Yes, I know who you are. All the feeble attempts at getting your off-the-wall “comments” on this site are in vain!! I have the system set so it auto-magically deletes your “comments“ without human intervention. I don’t even see the garbage that you leave.
Your leaving the “comments” doesn’t bother me in the least. I just consider the source. The system does tell me how many feeble attempts you’ve made that never accomplished your goal. I just glance at the number of attempts you’ve made, chuckle a bit, and move on.
I don’t care how many “comments” you want to leave. It’s taking NONE of my time, nor effort, to delete them since it’s done auto-magically. As long as you’re wasting your time leaving “comments” on this site that are never seen, you’re leaving other, less prepared, sites alone. For that, I thank you!!
Have a great day — if you can.
U.S. Army Brigade Deploys For Homeland Mission
For the first time ever, the US military is deploying an active duty regular Army combat unit for full-time use inside the United States to deal with national emergencies, including terrorism, natural disasters and civil unrest.
Beginning today, the First Brigade Combat Team of the Third Division will be placed under the command of US Army North, the Army’s component of the Pentagon’s Northern Command (NorthCom), which was created in the wake of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks with the stated mission of defending the US “homeland” and aiding federal, state and local authorities.
For 12 months, the 1st BCT will be under the day-to-day control of U.S. Army North, the Army service component of Northern Command, as an on-call federal response force for natural or manmade emergencies and disasters, including terrorist attacks.
[...]
After 1st BCT finishes its dwell-time mission, expectations are that another, as yet unnamed, active-duty brigade will take over and that the mission will be a permanent one.
“Right now, the response force requirement will be an enduring mission. How the [Defense Department] chooses to source that and whether or not they continue to assign them to NorthCom, that could change in the future,” said Army Col. Louis Vogler, chief of NorthCom future operations. “Now, the plan is to assign a force every year.”
[...]
They may be called upon to help with civil unrest and crowd control or to deal with potentially horrific scenarios such as massive poisoning and chaos in response to a chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear or high-yield explosive, or CBRNE, attack.
Training for homeland scenarios has already begun at Fort Stewart and includes specialty tasks such as knowing how to use the “jaws of life” to extract a person from a mangled vehicle; extra medical training for a CBRNE incident; and working with U.S. Forestry Service experts on how to go in with chainsaws and cut and clear trees to clear a road or area.
The 1st BCT’s soldiers also will learn how to use “the first ever nonlethal package that the Army has fielded,” 1st BCT commander Col. Roger Cloutier said, referring to crowd and traffic control equipment and nonlethal weapons designed to subdue unruly or dangerous individuals without killing them.
The package is for use only in war-zone operations, not for any domestic purpose.
“It’s a new modular package of nonlethal capabilities that they’re fielding. They’ve been using pieces of it in Iraq, but this is the first time that these modules were consolidated and this package fielded, and because of this mission we’re undertaking we were the first to get it.”
The package includes equipment to stand up a hasty road block; spike strips for slowing, stopping or controlling traffic; shields and batons; and, beanbag bullets.
[...]
The brigade will not change its name, but the force will be known for the next year as a CBRNE Consequence Management Response Force, or CCMRF (pronounced “sea-smurf”).
“I can’t think of a more noble mission than this,” said Cloutier, who took command in July. “We’ve been all over the world during this time of conflict, but now our mission is to take care of citizens at home … and depending on where an event occurred, you’re going home to take care of your home town, your loved ones.”
[...]
Should personnel be needed at an earthquake in California, for example, all or part of the brigade could be scrambled there, depending on the extent of the need and the specialties involved.
AIG Executives Blow $440,000 After Getting Bailout
If you’d just gotten a government bailout, you might be tempted to hold a retreat at a nice California hotel — and that’s exactly what American International Group (AIG: 3.51, -0.36, -9.30%) executives did.
The committee on Oversight and Government Reform held a hearing on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. Eastern time. to address and examine downfall of AIG, the world’s largest insurance company. The committee planned to discuss the financial excesses and regulatory mistakes that led to AIG’s government bailout.
One of the items discussed was AIG’s expenditure of $440,000 for a corporate retreat at the St. Regis Monarch Beach resort in Los Angeles, Calif. These funds were spent on Sept. 22, a week after the Federal Reserve extended an $85 billion emergency loan to AIG to keep it from going bankrupt due to insurance liabilities.
According to the receipt from the St. Regis, the eight-day company retreat was a lavish one – $139,000 was spent on hotel rooms, while even more money — $147,301 — was spent on banquets. Another $23,380 was spent on undisclosed spa treatments and another $6,939 was spent on golf. A full $9,980 was spent on room service and food and cocktails at the hotel lounge.
The St. Regis Monarch Beach resort is described on its Web site as “a landmark resort of legendary proportions.”
Legendary, indeed.
Top 10 reasons to blame Democrats for soaring gasoline prices
By William Tate
This started out as an attempt to create a light and humorous, Letterman-esque Top 10 list. But the items on the list, and the drain Americans are seeing in their pocketbooks because of Democrats’ actions (sometimes inaction) are just too tragic for that.
“President Bush began an intensive effort today to sell his plan for developing new sources of energy to Congress and the American people, arguing that the country had a future of ‘energy abundance if it could break free of the traditional antagonism between energy producers and environmental advocates.Mr. Bush’s plea for a new dialogue came as his administration published the report of an energy task force containing scores of specific proposals… for finding new sources of power and encouraging a range of new energy technologies.”[The Bush plan] “mentions about a dozen areas including land-use restrictions in the Rockies, lease stipulations on offshore areas attractive to oil companies, the vetting of locations for nuclear plants, environmental reviews to upgrade power plants and refineries that could be streamlined or eliminated to help industry find more oil and gas and produce more electricity and gasoline.”
“Mr. Bush talked not only of blackouts but of blackmail, raising the specter of a future in which the United States is increasingly vulnerable to foreign oil suppliers…Mr. Bush was praised by many groups for laying out a long-term energy policy. His report contained 105 initiatives…”
“World supplies are adequate and reasonably stable, price fluctuations are cyclical, reserves are plentiful,” he (Carter) argued. Mr. Carter said “exaggerated claims seem designed to promote some long-frustrated ambitions of the oil industry at the expense of environmental quality.”

The Advertisement that Should be Running in Every State
The National Republican Congressional Committee has released the exact advertisement that I’ve wanted John McCain to run, that I’ve wanted every Republican campaigning to gain or keep a seat in the House or Senate to run. Naming names. Pulling no punches. Here it is — it’s polished, it’s effective, and it’s true. Watch it, then send it to everybody that you know.
Great Socialist Bailout of 2008
I am watching the Socialist of the House Pelosi congratulate herself and her fellow moochers and looters on the passage of the Great Socialist Bailout of 2008.
It’s is to vomit from. San Fran Nan is blaming Wall Street – not the Government forced lending to the credit unworthy.
Wait it gets worse. They screaming about accountability and excoriating Wall Street and lack of regulation (the regulation Chris Dodd, Barney “There Is No Crisis At Fannie Mae” Frank and fellow Democrats) refused.
Wait it gets worse. They are installing chief moocher and looter, Barney Frank, to head the kangaroo court of investigation.
This is a very sad day my friends. Very sad.
Every dime should come out of social programs and entitlements. Not one dime cut for defense because without defense, end game.
Palin Wins the Debate
That’s my take. She was herself. And she’s wonderful. Smart, authentic. I dug it when she chided that old dinosaur. I wish she had gone more on the attack more particularly when Biden was blaming Bush/ McCain for the financial meltdown. It was the poisonous fruit of cancerous Democrat government intervention. She missed opportunities to go for the jugular but her performance was exceptional. She seemed perfectly comfortable. She got her shots in.
Biden said, “We will end this war”.
Palin said: “Your plan is a white flag of surrender.”
Calling him on redistribution of wealth, she said, “You said paying higher taxes is patriotic. In the middle-class, where I’m from, that’s not patriotic. You’re the problem.”
She made no mistakes. O’Biden was wrong at least 10 times (Karl Rove just said Biden was absolutely wrong ten times, arguably wrong another six)
She was engaging, warm, and charming. She feels like family.
He was old, tired, robotic ………….
UPDATE: FOX TV PHONE POLL: PALIN 86% BIDEN 12%
Palin knocked it out of the park, I tell ya
